(C) Choanomastigote Crithidia fasciculata labeled with Hoechst 33342 and PI. Lower panels show an enlarged view of individual cells. In each case the kinetoplast (K) appears brighter in the minor groove binding (MGB) stain image (DAPI or Hoechst 33342) than the base pair intercalating (BPI) stain image (PI or SYBR green).
