Enzymatic reaction system with one substrate and two effectors. The substrate S, the inhibitor I and the activator A bind to the enzyme at different sites to yield ES, EI, ESI, EA and ESA complexes. Binding of the inhibitor reduces the affinity of the substrate for the enzyme and/or the rate k p at which product is formed. The activator has the same, but opposite, effect (i.e. the affinity and/or k p increase).
