New World screwworm transgenic lines are dominant female lethal. Embryos from homozygous (a) or heterozygous (b) individuals were raised in larval diet containing (black bars) or without (grey bars) tetracycline and total number of adult males and females obtained was counted. The female lethal construct shows a high degree of dominance across all of our transgenic lines. The average percentage of total flies that were female is shown and mean ± standard deviation is expressed for three or more independent experiments
