Cross-contamination prediction with Cont-ID. Controls 1, 2 and 3 and rules 1, 2 and 3 are described in detail in Fig. 2. There are two input files, one for the alien data and one for the sample data. Alien file is used to calculate control thresholds which are then used along with the sample data to apply rules to a voting system (step 1). The votes are then counted to decide for each virus on each sample (element) either if it is a (cross)contamination or an infection (step 2)
